Stunning Conclusion!

The Dark Knight Rises is the final chapter in Christopher Nolans Epic The Dark Knight Trilogy, and what a stunning and masterful conclusion it is!

The Dark Knight Trilogy is one of the Best Trilogy's out there period. We have seen many different installments about the caped crusader and his many battles with thugs from the under world, but I have to say It would be an insult to the world if anyone tried to attempt to make more Batman Films after the Masterpiece's that we have been given.

There is a quality to The Dark Knight films that you just don't get from any of the other Batman films.

In The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne is faced with a terror that is taking hold of all of Gotham City, and the one who wants nothing more than to see the City come crumbling down is none other than Bane.

After being accused for the death of Harvey Dent, Batman decides its time to say goodbye to the Caped Crusader. But Eight years later, when Bane brings terror down upon all of Gotham, it is left up to Bruce Wayne to resurrect the Dark Knight and save Gotham from a force more powerful than anyone could ever imagine.

I enjoyed every minuet of this movie. This movie is every Batman fans dream come true!

Tom Hardy plays the ever ruthless Bane, and he did an excellent job! He had me cringe the entire time. He brought to life a Villain that truly inspires fear.

Anne Hathaway delivered a great performance as well in her role of Selina Kyle aka Cat woman. 

Everything about this film was totally believable and a great way to end a Fantastic Trilogy!

Depressing People Like Us

What were they thinking? That is my question to the Director and Producers of this film.
In all honesty, this movie was very depressing. The only part of the movie I enjoyed was the very end, possibly because I knew it was over. No in all seriousness the end was heartwarming, unfortunately the almost two hours it took to get there was not.
Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks star in this movie about two siblings who have no idea they are related. Upon the death of their father Jerry, Chris Pines Character (that's what I'll have to call him because a day later I can't remember the sad sacks name in this movie) is given a shaving kit that is full of money, 150 thousand dollars to be exact, and he is supposed to deliver it to his sister Frankie (I at least remembered one of their names) who he has never met before.
So Chris Pine goes to give his sister the money, but he doesn't dare tell her that they are related upon meeting and why you ask? Well I assume it was so Hollywood could give us another boring movie that also has the ability to make you realize your own life isn't as depressing as the fake people in this movie is.
The hard thing for me and I think everyone else in the theater was the fact that we could have been satisfied with a movie that was feel good, but instead we are given drama sequence after drama sequence, and it gets old fast.
At one point in the movie I thought to myself, "why doesn't he just tell her they are related and get it over with!" Seriously, this movie just drug on and on, only to inevitably give us the ending we all know is coming. The Hugs and Kisses session as I like to refer to it.

Sad. This movie had potential, but instead just spun in the mud and got us nowhere.

A New Classic

Disney and Pixar have recently released their newest film Brave, and I will say this about the movie, It's a true crowd pleaser!

In the beggining of the film we are introduced to one of the first Princesses that comes from Pixar, Merida. Merida is the daughter of a King and has fought her Mother the Queen her whole life to be able to do things her own way, instead of having to act the way everyone else expects her to.

As Merida grow's in years, the time comes for her to be married, but not to just anyone,to a worthy suitor from one of the three kingdoms from distant lands. The three Kingdoms gather and in Merida's honor, a competition will be held for her to see which of the three young men will be worthy of her hand.

Seeing that her life is about to be changed in a way she dosent want it to, Merida run's off to find a way to change her fate, so that she can live her life the way she has always dreamed.

At this point in the review, I will not give anymore away, so that I don't spoil the main plot of the film. I will say this though, Brave is truly something that everyone who is a big fan of all things Disney and Pixar will enjoy. I really loved the Beautiful shots of Ireland, I think the animators did a fantastic job in portratying the vast landscapes.

I had read reviews about this film from other "Critics" and a few said that they felt that the movie started off strong, but then it turned into a kids movie. I'm Sorry, was this supposed to be something other than a kids movie I mean come on. It's like going to see Batman and then saying it "It started off good, but then it turned into an action movie". Thanks Genius.

Make sure to take the time to see this movie, you won't be dissapointed.

Mirror Mirror

This year we have been given two different versions of the Snow White legend. Mirror Mirror was released first, then Snow White and the Huntsman. I have seen both films and the two are very different from each other. Snow White and the Huntsman was a very dark retelling. However Mirror Mirror proves to be a lighter version, which will please both young and old.
Julia Roberts and Lily Collins take on the two leads in this fresh yet somewhat different take on how Snow Whites tale happened.
We are all used to Disney's original telling of the classic fairy tale, but in Mirror Mirror director Tarsem Singh adds a little twist to how the story really happened.
Mirror Mirror is told from the Evil Queens perspective. But we are more involved with how Snow White rises up and takes over the Kingdom that is rightfuly hers.
Upon finding out that the Kingdom is quickly becoming bankrupt, The Queen tries to find a Prince that is wealthy beyond means, so that she can marry him and save the Kingdom she reigns.
All the while Snow White has been locked up in the Palace, but on her 18th Birthday, she decides to find a way to get rid of the Evil Queen so that she can become the Queen that the village deserves.
Truth be told I did enjoy Mirror Mirror, I found it laging in some parts however the visionary direction and the costume design held my interest, not to mention there was plenty of Humor in this film.
Mirror Mirror reminded me alot of something that Disney would produce. Maybe it was Alan Menken's music score that gave this film the Classic disney vibe.
 All in all I did find myself liking this movie, even thought some parts were a bit cheesey but hey what movie isn't cheesey in it's own way.

Snow White & The Huntsman

Snow White and The Huntsman is not only one of the best films this year, it's also a cinematic masterpiece. This Film takes the story of Snow White to a whole new level.
Trust me when I say, this ain't Walt Disney's Version.
In the beginning of the film we are introduced to how the Evil Queen Ravenna came to be. Seriously this Queen is Evil. She is obsessed with staying young and being the fairest of them all and she will do whatever it takes to do so. But in order for her to stay that way, she has to take the life of a younger woman, so that she can continue to stay young and beautiful forever.
In Ravenna's quest for beauty, she comes to find from her trusted mirror, that their is of course one who is more fair than she, Snow White. Ravenna has kept Snow White prisoner in the top of the castle tower since she was a young girl, but one day Snow White escapes beyond the castle gates and into the dark forest.
The Queen then sends The Huntsman out to find her because she needs Snow Whites heart, so that she never has to worry of aging again. Upon finding the princess, and discovering her true identity (the Queen didn't bother to tell The Huntsman who he was going after), the huntsman decides then that he will help her in her effort to escape as far as she can from the clutches of Ravenna, and help her fight for her kingdom.
I could go on and on with the plot of this film, but their is so much to go over. The visual effects in this film are beyond anything that I have ever seen. Some of my favorite parts involved The Dark Forest and the enchanted realm that Snow White and the Huntsman are introduced to by the Seven Dwarfs, which include some enchanted forest creatures, much like something we would see in a Walt Disney Film.
Not to mention the Stellar Acting from all who were involved in this movie.
Charlize Theron was a true Beast as Ravenna the evil queen. She was spot on in this film and I would even go so far as to say that her performance is Award Worthy. Kristen Stewart who played Snow White did well. I was nervous because of her Twilight films, but she stepped out of the box for this one. And Chris Hemsworth who played The Huntsman was fantastic.
Great Film! I wouldn't recommend this for younger audiences because this version of Snow White is Darker than any before.
It is however my new favorite telling of the Snow White fairytale.

Disney and Marvel Merger

Not to long ago, I was in the Disney store, and I had noticed that the store was carrying Marvel products.
I thought to myself "what is this stuff doing here? This is a Disney store, not a Marvel store." Well come to find out, Disney just bought Marvel and so we should expect to see more superhero action figures along side the ever famous Disney Princess's.
Another perk that will come from the Disney/Marvel Merger, is that we will be seeing some of Marvels famous characters hit the Disney theme parks in the form of new rides! That had me super excited.
Fans of the Marvel Comics and Films were worried that Disney would make the name Family Friendly, since Marvel is aimed at adult audiences. Disney has stated that they are not going to make any changes to Marvel, or its upcoming films which Include, Thor 2 and The Avengers sequel.

A Cult Classic

10 things I hate about you, has to be one of the best of the teenage, I love you/hate you films. This is one that will put a smile on your face. I watched it the other night, for the first time, in a long time and still like it as much if not more, as I did when it first came out.

Joyful Noise is something to Celebrate

Joyful Noise was not at all what I had expected. I didn't have to chance to catch it while in theaters, however it has recently been released on Blu Ray and DVD, and I was able to see it, and I must say, Joyful Noise was a fun and heartwarming film.
The movie follows our main Characters, Vi Rose (Queen Latifah) and G.G. (Dolly Parton) Two women, who are in an uproar rival, because Vi Rose was made head of their small town congregational choir. G.G.thinks she should be in Charge of the Choir, because her and her late husband, are the church's biggest financial supporters, hence why G.G. Isn't thrilled that Vi Rose got the position over her.
In the midst of G.G. and Vi's quarrel's, they are trying to get their small town choir to win the final's in the Joyful Noise competition, but fear they won't succeed because of their outdated church hymns. But when G.G.'S grandson Randy comes to town, he proves that he might be able to shake things up, and pump out some righteous numbers, that just might help get them the win they need.
I really enjoyed this movie. I found it to be entertaining from start to finish. My only complaint is that there were a few area's in the plot that didn't seem to be thought through all the way. Some parts of the movie seemed to be a bit choppy. Other than that This movie delivers plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments. I would recommend it to anyone who liked Sister Act.

Like Crazy

Like Crazy, where do I begin. There is so much that is wrong with this movie.

Lets start off with the misleading trailer, that leads you to believe this is a love story. It's far from it.

In the beginning of the film, we are introduced to the main characters, Jacob and Anna.

The two meet while attending college in L.A., and they go out on a date with each other, and from then on they are completely smitten. But their is one little problem. Anna is from England and is only in L.A. as an exchange student, and so she needs to return to England during the summer so that her Visa won't be violated.

Well as you would have it, she refuses to go back because she is in love with Jacob, and she can't bare to live without him for two and a half months. So as a punishment she is sent back to England and is told she can't come back to America, because she Violated her student Visa.

Thus Her and Jacob are heart broken, and decide that a long distant relationship won't work. So they break up and agree not to speak to each other anymore. The two get on with their lives, and meet new people. Jacob meets Sam, who is played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Anna Meets some guy who's performance was totally forgettable so we will just refer to him as guy.

 The two go on to live separate lives, but oh wait Anna can't live without Jacob, so she decides to be obnoxious and ruin Jacobs relationship with Sam, so that the two can get married and live happily ever after.

Seriously, Anna was beyond annoying in this movie. She could never make up her mind. Just when Jacob got over her, she would pop back up in his life and demand that they be together.

The truly sad part to this movie, was when Jacob told Sam he had to break up with her, to be with the annoying girl from England. That scene broke my heart, because Sam truly loved Jacob, and their chemistry worked.

That's another thing I wanted to mention, the two main characters couldn't have worse chemistry. I felt nothing for those two, and couldn't care less if they ended up together or not. I actually found myself rooting against them.

So to sum it up, Jacob and Anna get married, fight for the rest of the movie, and then to top it off, we are given one of the worst endings that I have ever seen in my life! It didn't make any sense.

In a nutshell, save yourself and don't waste your time. This movie is not what the trailers make it out to be.
