Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Only one word can describe this movie, Incredible!
I have never been a fan of the old school version of Planet of the Apes, I have only seen the version starring Mark Wahlberg and even this adaptation makes the Mark Wahlberg version look like a joke.
The first thing that this movie did right was not dress up humans as apes.
The filmmakers used CGI to create the apes and I must say they were amazing looking.
Caesar is the Lead Character/Ape, in fact Caesar is the star of the film not James Franco.
In the first part of the film we are introduced to how Caesar became so intelligent, we also see how Franco's character Will raised him from a baby chimp to a full grown ape. I admire the relationship that grows between Will and Caesar.
In the time you get to know Caesar you end up caring for him and hope that he triumphs over the humans that want to harm him. But given the title we already know whats going to happen in the end.
In the second part of the film we see how Caesar comes to the realization of what he truly is. When Caesar is taken away from Will he See's how his kind is really treated by all other humans, and in part in the movie Caesar gets a look on his face that gave me goosebumps because you know exactly what he is thinking of doing.
This may sound strange but I was rooting for the Apes the whole time, and in the last half hour of the movie it is nothing but an all out war between the Apes and the Human Race.
The Action Sequences are amazing, the acting incredible! I can't Imagine how much time it took to film this movie.
I hope there is a sequel in the works. Usually I am not such a huge fan of sequels, but in this case I would be greatly disappointed if there wasn't one.

Solid A
PG-13 for intense and frightening sequences of action and violence.
Running Time 1hr & 45mins
